サンゴ礁地球環境学研究室（CREES）は総合地球環境学研究所、北海道大学、喜界島サンゴ礁科学研究所などに所属するメンバーで構成される横断的な研究コミュニティです。国内外のメンバーと一人ではできないフィールドワークや化学分析、そして貴重な試料・資料の共有をしながら、研究を進めています。山崎研究室は2022年10月に九州大学から名古屋大学に引っ越してきました。一緒に研究活動を行うみなさんを募集しています。

名古屋大学大学院環境学研究科 講師　Lecturer

博士（理学）. 北海道大学大学院理学院自然史科学専攻 博士後期課程修了. 研究テーマは低緯度域の海洋物質循環とその古海洋学．サンゴ礁の形成と気候変動＋最近は人・コミュニティの活動や影響にも研究の幅を広げている．喜界島サンゴ礁科学研究所所長．

Doctor of Science (Natural History Sciences) at Hokkaido University. Her research focuses on low-latitude marine material cycles and their paleoceanography. Her research interests include coral reef formation, climate change, and human and community activities and impacts. She is also the director of the KIKAI Insitute for Coral Reef Sciences.

名古屋大学大学院環境学研究科 客員准教授 Visiting Associate Professor at Nagoya University

博士（地球環境科学）．総合地球環境学研究所／北海道大学大学院理学研究院に所属．世界最古のエルニーニョの発見、シャコガイの日輪の発見など造礁サンゴ骨格およびシャコガイ殻を用いた古環境復元研究をリードしてきた．最近は科学とアートの融合で新しいサイエンスの探求に取り組む．山崎の師匠．

Ph.D. (Earth Environmental Sciences). He affiliates with Research Institute for Humanity and Nature and Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University. He has led research on paleoenvironmental reconstruction using reef-building coral skeletons and giant clam shells, including the discovery of the world’s oldest El Niño and the daily bands of the giant clam. Recently, he has been working on the fusion of science and art to explore new science.

九州大学理学部地球惑星科学科 学士課程修了 (2022) 卒業論文「 東シナ海に生息する造礁サンゴの百年規模の石灰化量変遷 /  100-year-scale calcification transition of reef-building corals inhabiting the East China Sea」．コロナ禍で韓国からリモートで卒業研究実施．頑張った！

名古屋大学大学院環境学研究科 修士課程修了 (2026) ．修士（理学）．修士論文「フランス領ポリネシア・ボラボラ島の化石ハマサンゴに記録された酸素同位体比季節変動の過去2000年間の変遷：中世気候異常期における南東太平洋の大気海洋相互作用の状態 」．CREESサマースクールでベトナム・フーコック島のフィールドワークを企画・実施．

Steffen Hetzinger

Visiting Associate Professor at Nagoya University (July 2023 – Oct 2023）

Ph.D. His research focuses on extracting past environmental signals from the skeletons of long-lived corals, coralline algae, and other marine organisms. His research areas range from the tropics to the Arctic. After receiving his PhD in marine geology from the University of Kiel, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, followed by research projects at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Marine Research (Kiel) and the University of Hamburg. He specializes in the development and application of new high-resolution paleoclimate indicators and analytical approaches to study and better understand climate and environmental change during the Anthropocene, with particular interests in paleoclimatology, dating, geochemistry and geology.
